As the crisp fall air begins to settle in (slowly, but surely here in Wisconsin) and the days grow shorter, the excitement for Halloween starts to bubble...almost overflowing by this point. Whether you're a seasoned Halloween enthusiast or a newcomer eager to embrace the spooky season, preparing for this haunted holiday can be a delightful and creative adventure. From selecting the perfect costume to crafting eerie decorations and planning the ultimate trick or treat route, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Join us as we dive into our essentials to make this Halloween another unforgettable one!

First thing's first when getting into the spirit of Halloween is decorating. We have fall decor up already (typically on August 1), so on October 1, we have all of our Halloween decor put up. Once, we have the decor up, then the rest of the Halloween prep can continue. Typically, we like to be prepared for Halloween weeks in advance. Such as, buying the Halloween treats for school parties, getting Halloween candy for trick or treaters (even though, we live in the country and no one usually shows up lol), and getting the kids' costumes bought. Now that we have two teenagers, they are getting close to the age of not going treat or treating. But we think they have one more year left in them. We like for the kids to have their costumes picked out by the first day of October as well. We are also budgeting at this time too. Hence, why we like to be prepared ahead of time and don't like when things change up last minute. Once, the costumes and candy are bought, we get together with close family and friends and plan out where we're going to meet for the Halloween parade and trick or treating. Once we have a time and place figured out, our Halloween prep is officially complete, and we just have to wait for the day to follow through with it!

So, as the witching hour approaches, the excitement and anticipation for Halloween reach this peak. With the right preparation, you can transform your home into a haunted haven, create unforgettable memories with friends and family, and let your creativity shine through costumes and decorations.

Remember, Halloween is not just about the spooky thrills but also about celebrating the joy of community and togetherness. So, gather your ghoulish friends and family, embrace the spirit of the season, and enjoy every moment of this enchanting holiday. Happy Halloween, and may your festivities be filled with fun, fright, and plenty of treats!
