Christmas Shopping

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season has begun! We know, officially, the busiest shopping season doesn't begin until next week...but for us it has begun.

Again, we know the day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, is the official kickoff to the holiday shopping season. Which, we do love Black Friday and do participate in still. But we like to budget and plan out our shopping. We like to prepare for our shopping trips. Plus, due to the popularity and accessibility of online shopping, we find ourselves taking advantage of that. So, the majority of our gifts we buy are online.

However, we do love going into the stores now and hearing the Christmas music and seeing all of the Christmas displays. But at the same time, this time is crazy too with so many people running around preparing for Thanksgiving and possibly already Christmas shopping as well. Even with the crazy crowds, we still find ourselves enjoying it. It's all about the memories we are making. It's definitely an excuse to use to have a girls' day to escape everyday life. We love getting together with close friends and or family and taking a trip.

Since we live in a small, rural area, we don't have shopping centers nor a variety or stores to shop at except a small Walmart and a local grocery store. So, we have to travel a minimum of an hour to get to the closest city to have a variety of good stores to shop at. Hence, why we make it a girl' day or girls' trip. So, we go all day. Typically, we grab our coffee and head out in the morning. We then drive the hour or so, shop for a couple hours. Then we grab lunch, continue shopping. Once, we're finished or had enough people for the day, we grab some Starbucks and head home.

Even though, holiday shopping can be stressful or exhausting, we find the joy of it. We love taking time to prepare for it and then making it a trip for us to enjoy. So, let us know, if you also have a similar experience... or not, either way!
