Celebrating a Milestone

As I sit down to write this post, my heart is filled with a mix of joy and bittersweet emotions. Today, my youngest daughter Avery officially turns 10, and I can hardly believe how quickly the time has flown. This milestone marks her entry into the double digits a significant leap towards maturity that fills me with excitement. Watching her grow has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I'm thrilled to see the amazing person she is becoming.

However, as I celebrate her birthday, I can't help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me. With her turning ten, I am reminded that she is my final child. Each of her firsts from her first steps to her first day of school are my last experiences with young children. It's a poignant reminder that as she embraces new adventures, I, too, am aging. Each birthday brings a mixture of pride and a tinge of sadness as I realize that these moments are fleeting.

One of the things that brings me the most joy is witnessing Avery's passion for horses and barrel racing. Her fascination with these majestic creatures has ignited a spark within her, and I love seeing her light up whenever she talks about them. It's incredible to watch her practice and develop her skills, each day bringing her closer to her dreams. I can already envision her racing across the arena, a determined smile on her face, as she chases after her goals.

And let's not forget her favorite color blue! From her clothes to her room, she has always surrounded herself with shades of blue. It's a reflection of her vibrant personality, and I'm constantly amazed at how she expresses herself through her interests and choices.

As we celebrate Avery's special day, filled with hope and pride for the future that lies ahead for her. I know that each year will bring new challenges and triumphs, and I will always be here cheering her on. While I may be saying goodbye to my own experiences with babies and toddlers, I am eager to embrace this new chapter alongside her as she blossoms into a remarkable young woman.
