Amber's Morning Routine: A Step-by-Step Look into Her Daily Start

8/19/20242 min read

Hello everyone, Amber here! Today, I'm excited to share my morning routine with all of you. My co-host Sam gave a rundown of her morning routine a couple of weeks ago, so now it’s my turn. If you're curious about how the other half of the Slacks to Sweats podcast host starts her day, stay tuned!

Waking Up

First things first, I wake up to my alarm, which always seems too early. I’m not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, but starting my day off right is crucial. The alarm goes off at 6:30 AM, and after a few moments of grumbling, I finally get out of bed.

Making the Bed

Once I’m up, I make my bed. This might sound trivial to some, but having my bed made is essential for me to feel like I’ve started the day off on the right foot. An unmade bed just bugs me and throws me off my game. It also sets a small but important precedent that I've accomplished something, no matter how small, right as I start my day.

Heading to the Bathroom

After I make my bed, I head straight to the bathroom. This is where I perform my daily hygiene routine, including washing my face, brushing my teeth, and taking a quick shower. A burst of cold water usually helps me wake up fully and get ready to tackle the day ahead.

Skincare and Makeup

I believe that taking care of my skin is just as important as brushing my teeth. My skincare routine involves cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, followed by applying sunscreen. Once that’s done, I move on to my makeup. I keep it simple and professional, as I’m heading to work after this.

Breakfast

Next up is breakfast. I typically go for something quick but nourishing, like a bowl of oatmeal with fruits or a smoothie. I try to avoid heavy foods in the morning as they tend to make me sluggish. Sometimes, I'll also have a cup of coffee but not every day.

Getting Dressed and Ready

With breakfast out of the way, it’s time to get dressed. I usually pick out my outfit the night before to save time in the morning. I believe that dressing well sets the tone for my entire day. Once dressed, I gather my things and head out the door, ready to take on whatever challenges come my way.

So there you have it, my not-so-exciting but very routine morning. It’s the small, consistent actions that help me prepare mentally and physically for the day ahead. I hope you found this insightful! Until next time, stay motivated and keep enjoying the Slacks to Sweats podcast!
