The Arrival of an Early Summer

Can you believe that summer has officially arrived? It has definitely showed up early here in Wisconsin, which is quite unusual for our weather. Typically, our warmer weather arrives around the 4th of July, which is right around the corner, but this year has been full of surprises.

A Rainy and Warm Season

Despite the early arrival, this year has also been a remarkably rainy one. We've had a few 'hot' days as well, making this summer particularly distinctive. Typically, summers in Wisconsin are characterized by a gradual warming, peaking mid-season. However, this year the weather has been anything but typical.

Official Start of Summer

Even though we have been enjoying the summer for a month or so, we all know that summer doesn't 'officially' start until the end of June. This year's official start was on June 20, a slight shift from the usual date of June 21. Fun fact: June 21 is our dad's birthday, making the start of summer an especially memorable event for us. The change to June 20 was due to it being a leap year, or at least that's what we were told!

Excitement for the Upcoming Holidays

We're so excited as the 4th of July approaches. Here in Wisconsin, we love our holidays, and Independence Day is no exception. With early warm weather, it already feels like the holiday is in full swing. As we continue to enjoy the sunny days and perhaps a few more showers, we embrace the uniqueness of this year's summer.
