The Majesty of Rib Mountain
Today's minisode focuses on the historical Rib Mountain in central Wisconsin. Also referred to as Rib Hill by a select few, this majestic formation was sculpted over a billion years ago by glacial activity. It sits adjacent to the city of Rib Mountain, which is near Wausau.
Geographical Significance
Rib Mountain stretches nearly four miles and reaches a pinnacle elevation of about 1,942 feet above sea level. Impressively, it rises approximately 741 feet above the surrounding terrain. Not only a geographical marvel, but it is also home to the well-known Granite Peak Ski Area and Rib Mountain State Park.
